Using the A.D.A.P.T. syllabus as a base, jazz offers students a fast paced, energized class full of new combinations and routines. Technique, strength and flexibility are main components of this class. The length of class depends on the level of training and is as follows:
1 – 45-minute class per week
Junior 1-3, Pre-Intermediate
1 – 1-hour class per week
1 – 1 ¼-hour class per week
Jazz Supplement classes are intended to give students an additional jazz class in which various aspects of a jazz class are highlighted. Students will focus on exam material until Christmas and will study stylized jazz such as lyrical and conditioning as well as work with Free My Muse beginning in January. Pre-Intermediate 1-2 students enrol in Junior Jazz Supplement while Pre-Intermediate 3 and Senior students enrol in Senior Jazz Supplement. Each class is one hour per week and is required for exam and competitive students.
Recreational and Teen Jazz Classes are intended for children who are not interested in achieving an exam or competitive level. Students in these classes will advance through their weekly classes and perform at the Production along with the competitive students.
