Tammy Sullivan Kostersky
Tammy began her training at the age of two and a half years years in Calgary, Alberta. This training continued when the family moved to Lethbridge, Alberta, where she graduated from high school. Throughout her training as a dance student, she participated in numerous competitions and attended workshops and summer schools.
She began teaching as a Junior Teacher at the age of 14 years. It was only natural that after graduating from high school, she would pursue a career in teaching dance.
Tammy’s post-secondary studies have included extensive training in the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD) syllabus in Toronto as well as Missoula, Montana where she obtained a BFA in Dance – Teacher’s Training, and a BA in Psychology. She has been responsible for implementing creative dance into daycare programs and dance movement therapy programs into geriatric facilities. Tammy’s dedication to quality training takes her away to courses on a regular basis. She is an accredited teacher of the A.D.A.P.T. Jazz and Tap syllabus and a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance, teaching diploma, with a mark of Distinction.
She is in demand as both an adjudicator and workshop instructor and is honored to be selected as the choreographer for Yorkton Community Theatre. Past credits include Oklahoma, Hello Dolly, Crazy for You, Music Man, My Fair Lady and Annie Get Your Gun.
Miss Tammy is a very dynamic teacher who always brings a lot of energy into her classes and whose hiqh quality of teaching has been recognized by national adjudicators and instructors. She was recently recognized for her innovative choreography for the Royal Visit to Yorkton in the Spring of 2007. Tammy looks forward to continuing to play a vital role in the Yorkton community.
Joanne Russell
Joanne Russell comes to us from England, having trained at and graduated from the prestigious Royal Ballet School with the TTC diploma. Besides being a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dancing, Joanne is also an associate member of the ISTD Cecchetti and ISTD National having attained the advanced certificate in both.
She brings to us experience in Classical Spanish, Contemporary, Jazz and Tap and most recently received her certification as an ADAPT instructor. During the fall of 2005, Joanne will add certified Pilates to her list of credentials as she completes the certification process.
Joanne’s classes are always a lot of fun for the younger students as well as the seniors. She looks forward to another wonderful year of sharing her love of dance with the students of Dance Innovations.
Kristen Lawrance
Miss Kristen began her training at Dance Innovations 12 years ago and we are so pleased to have her on staff this year. She has included Ballet and Jazz as well as Pointe and Lyrical in her curriculum and has completed her first year of the ADAPT Teacher’s Training School under the direction of Mr. Brian Foley. Miss Kristen is looking forward to meeting her new students and encouraging them to grow.
Stephanie Heshka
Miss Stephanie has also grown up at the dance studio participating in all forms of dance. Recently she has shown a keen interest in Hip Hop and is excited to be taking the Junior Hip Hop program under her wing. We know the younger students are going to enjoy Miss Stephanie’s classes. She is looking forward to sharing her love of dance with all students.
Lucia Trischuk
Miss Lucia is excited to be teaching the Teen Hip Hop and beginner Tap program. A dancer at the studio for the past 11 years, Lucia has had the opportunity of participating in classes with several international and national choreographers. Her love of dance has led her to several awards and recognitions in the dance community. She is excited to be on staff this year and to share her energy with her students.
