About Us

From the time a child is conceived, he or she moves in an unpredictable fashion in order to become familiar to his or her surroundings. Any newborn can be observed discovering his or her environment through movement. Creativity and movement are not learned phenomena, they are already a part of every young child. They can not be taught, only encouraged. Dance Innovations is based on the idea that every person, despite age and ability, deserves the opportunity to dance, and to do so in a positive environment.

In 1995, Dance Innovations opened its doors to Yorkton with an overwhelming response. Over the past 12 years, the studio has grown extensively and is now responsible for the dance education of over 250 students. Quality Dance Education has always been priority which has allowed all students to excel in nationally-recognized exams. We are proud to be the pioneer in many of the programs we offer including Adult Dance Education, Dance for Toddlers and Pre-Schoolers, Teacher's Training programs and Boys Only classes. From exams to competition to performing around the city at various functions, our students represent Yorkton very well.

As instructors we have the pleasure of watching children grow up, learning not only about the joy of performing but also about working towards and achieving goals, building self-confidence and developing special friendships. The studio stresses teamwork and can often be heard backstage cheering "Go Team". Our goal is not only to guide in the development of accomplished dancers but to assist in the nurturing of children who will become positive citizens in our communities.
